Dr. Wong is Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology and the Department of Immunology and Theranostics at City of Hope. Since 2002, Dr Wong has helped lead the Department to develop and clinically evaluate a new method of delivering a more targeted form of total body irradiation that uses large field image-guided intensity-modulated radiotherapy in patients undergoing hematopoetic cell transplantations for a variety of advanced hematologic malignancies. His team was the first in the world to use this method, total marrow irradiation (TMI) or total marrow and lymphoid irradiation (TMLI), on patients. A TMI database has been developed to capture data for patients receiving IMRT-based TBI, TMI and TMLI. His team has collaborated with centers in Asia and Europe to initiate TMI and TMLI programs. Dr Wong is also co-director of City of Hope’s cutting-edge theranostics program, which enables clinicians to find and treat tumor cells at the same time through novel targeted radiopharmaceuticals. Dr Wong obtained his Bachelor’s Degree from Stanford University and M.D. from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He completed his residency training in Radiation Oncology at the University of California, San Francisco.

An Liu, currently serves as a clinical professor and the Director of Radiation Physics at the City of Hope National Medical Center. Dr. Liu is a board-certified radiation oncology physicist and plays an important leadership role in City of Hope’s clinical and research program. Dr. Liu is the past president of AAPM in Southern California Chapter. Dr. Liu has over 20 years of experience in the field of Radiation Oncology and has published extensively, lectured and conducted workshops on medical physics and healthcare management in both the US and Asia. Dr. Liu earned his B.S. in physics from Beijing University and later earned his PhD in Biomedical Physics from UCLA School of Medicine.

Dr. Vagge is a radiation oncologist, leading research on radiation in hematological oncology in Genoa. IRCCS Ospedale Policlinico San Martino, in Genova hosts one of the biggest hematological departments for bone marrow transplantation in Italy. In 2009 the team performed the first total marrow irradiation (TMI) treatment in Europe and after more than ten years, TMI has replaced conventional total body irradiation in most clinical trials at this institution. Dr. Vagge was one of the first members of the international consortium for total marrow irradiation (ICTMI) and has published several peer-reviewed papers and book chapters on TMI. He also leads the radiation oncology clinical practice and research on thoracic cancer, melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers.
