This webinar will explore the use of Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) to treat liver cancer. Dr. Cheng will discuss the practical techniques and the outcomes of the procedure. He will examine the latest evidence-based research and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of SBRT for liver cancer. Dr. Cheng will also discuss the potential benefits, and side effects associated with the treatment.

Jason Chia-Hsien Cheng is a professor of radiation oncology at the National Taiwan University College of Medicine and a visiting professor at St. Louis University Medical Center. He received his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from the National Yang-Ming University School of Medicine and the National Taiwan University Hospital.
Dr Cheng has been recognized for his outstanding research and scientific achievements with several prestigious awards. In 2018, Dr. Cheng was the recipient of two awards, the Fellow Award of American Society for Radiation Oncology (FASTRO) and the Outstanding Research Award of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Taiwan. Dr. Cheng was also the team leader for the International-US Scientific Award News Briefing at the 2014 American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO) Annual Meeting and was the recipient of the Junior Investigator (Wu Ta You) Award of the National Science Council, Taiwan in 2007. In addition, he was also granted the Fellowship Award and Junior Investigator Award from the National Science Council, Taiwan in 2019.
Dr Cheng is a Council Member of the Asia-Pacific Primary Liver Expert (APPLE) since September 2019 and has been the Founder of the Asian Liver Radiation Therapy (ALRT) Special Interest Group (SIG) since 2015 and the Principal Investigator of Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG), NRG Oncology at National Taiwan University Hospital (Affiliated Member) since July 2009. Additionally, he is a member of the NRG Oncology GI General Committee since January 2016. Dr. Cheng is the author of several articles that have been published in peer-reviewed journals, chapters and books.

Dr. Anand Mahadevan recently moved to NYU Langone. Prior to this, Dr. Mahadevan was Professor and Chairman of the Department of Radiation Oncology at Geisinger Cancer Institute – Geisinger Health, Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, in Danville, Pennsylvania. Dr. Mahadevan is the Chairperson of the RSSearch® Patient Registry Committee.
He completed his general surgical and oncology residency in the United Kingdom and completed his fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) in the Joint Center Harvard Radiation Oncology Program. He was then in the faculty of the Harvard Radiation Oncology Program until 2016.
Dr. Mahadevan’s area of focus is CNS malignancies and he also has a particular interest in Stereotactic Radiosurgery and SBRT for liver/pancreas tumors and oligometastases.
