The webinar will focus on the dose and fractionation of spine SBRT referring to the latest published studies. Primary SBRT and reirradiation will be addressed, as well as recent data on doses/fractionation. Case reports will be shared demonstrating clinical and technical aspects of spinal SBRT delivery.
Sophie Bockel, M.D., MSc, Gustave Roussy University Hospital, Villejuif, France
Sophie Bockel (M.D., MSc), is a radiation oncologist at Gustave Roussy University Hospital, Cancer Campus Grand Paris.
Her field of expertise includes neuro-oncology, particularly in the field of spinal cord, skull base and brain tumors, as well as breast cancer, with a particular interest in translational research, including imaging and radiomics, the combination of radiotherapy with immunotherapy/targeted therapies, as well as all new innovative drugs and devices (nanoparticles). Her primary motivation is to care for patients as unique individuals, using all the latest skills and technologies (radiosurgery, IMRT, advanced MR imaging and radiomics) as tools for highly personalized care.
Dr. Bockel graduated from the Strasbourg Medical School in 2018 and obtained a Master's degree in cancer biology, radiobiology option, from the University of Paris Saclay the same year. Formerly an intern for the public hospitals in Strasbourg and later head of the Public Assistance Clinic in Paris, she is now a full-time practitioner in the Radiation Oncology Department of Gustave Roussy. She is a member of the SFRO, ESTRO and ANOCEF.
She is the principal investigator and co-investigator of several clinical trials currently open at Gustave Roussy.
Isabelle Chabert, Ph.D., Gustave Roussy University Hospital, Villejuif, France
Isabelle Chabert is medical physicist at Gustave Roussy since 2017. She obtained the certification to be a medical physicist in 2012 after studying at the Val de Grâce Hospital. She received her Ph.D. in Sciences in 2015 at University Paris Sud after her work on dose calculation algorithms and portal image prediction. She completed her training with a post-doctoral fellowship at Gustave Roussy on PET-MR and high-grade gliomas. She joined Curie Institute as a medical physicist before joining the Gustave Roussy team. She is now strongly involved in brachytherapy and stereotactic treatments in the CyberKnife team.

Dr. Kristin Redmond specializes in the treatment of brain tumors and leads the spinal oncology multi-disciplinary program at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine where she is a member of the Miller Coulson Academy for Clinical Excellence. She received her undergraduate degree from Princeton University where she graduated magna cum laude with a focus in neuro-psychology. She attended medical school and obtained a Masters in Public Health in health systems management at Tulane University where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society as well as the Gold Humanism in Medicine Honor Society.
Dr. Redmond’s research interest focuses on the development of novel radiation techniques and therapeutic agents to treat brain and spine tumors in order to increase tumor control and overall survival. In addition, she is working to develop innovative approaches to try to limit long term toxicities and minimize neuro-cognitive dysfunction following treatment for tumors of the central nervous system.
