This webinar has applied to CAMPEP for approval of 1 Medical Physics Continuing Education Credit (MPCEC), ASRT for 1 Category A Continuing Education credit, 1 CPE Point for Singapore Society of Radiographers & 1 CPD Credit for Hong Kong Radiographers Board.
This educational webinar highlights expanding Fiducial-Free options in Lung SBRT with Synchrony® Real-Time Motion Management Utilizing Lung and Liver Dome Tracking on CyberKnife® and Radixact® Systems.
Learning Objectives:
1. Explain how Synchrony® detects respiratory motion and adapts beam delivery in real time on the CyberKnife® and Radixact® Systems.
2. Differentiate direct lung tracking from liver-dome surrogate tracking by patient selection, imaging visibility, workflow, and limitations in fiducial-free lung SBRT.
3. Analyze a lung SBRT case to select an appropriate fiducial-free tracking strategy and identify when additional verification or an alternative motion-management approach is warranted.
Presenter: Neelu Soni, MS, DABR, is the Chief Medical Physicist at Mercy Hospital Springfield in Springfield, Missouri, where she leads clinical medical physics initiatives supporting advanced radiation therapy technologies and quality assurance programs. With extensive experience in stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), motion management, and image-guided radiation therapy, she has played a key role in the clinical implementation and optimization of precision radiation treatments for a wide range of cancer patients. She is an active contributor to the medical physics community through research, presentations, and scientific collaborations focused on treatment accuracy, quality assurance, and motion-adaptive radiotherapy.
In this webinar, Ms. Soni will share her expertise in Synchrony® real-time motion management and fiducial-free lung SBRT, highlighting the use of the liver dome as a surrogate for real-time adaptive tracking of lung tumors. Drawing from her clinical experience, she will discuss practical approaches and lessons learned when utilizing this technique on both CyberKnife® and Radixact® Systems to enhance treatment precision while reducing the need for invasive fiducial placement.
Presenter: Jesse McKay, MS, DABR, is the Chief Medical Physicist at Erlanger Health System, with extensive experience in CyberKnife, SRS/SBRT, treatment planning, commissioning, QA, Lung LOT and clinical technology implementation.
He is the educator and residency program leader, serving as Associate Director of the Provision Healthcare and Erlanger Health System Medical Physics Residency Program, and is one of the recurring Accuray CyberKnife physician training speakers with multiple publications, invited talks, and conference presentations. He has been a CyberKnife user since 2009 and LOT user since 2011.
